I Heart Faces Week #29 – The Beach
I know! I know! It is WINTER here but over at I heart Faces they are having a beach theme this week.
Thankfully, I have a couple lots of beach shots from last summer that I can choose from – in fact – I was really torn between two…but finally decided on this one as his face is sooo freakishly silly!
The photo I am submitting, photographically, is not technically great but it is FUN! I took it last September (winter for us Australians) just after I first purchased my DSLR. Aahhhh, the memories!
This is taken at my local beach – we are lucky enough to live 5 mins drive away from here – a famous place, called Brighton Beach. It is known for all of its wonderfully coloured bathing/beach huts. These are all privately owned and if one does happen to go for auction, they sell for over $100,000.00 AUD!!
Anyway, here is Zed boy (yet again!) doing a dive off the little verandah, pulling a strangely weird face. It must be his flying face! I guess what I like most about this shot is the colours and his flying shadow.
DISCLAIMER: Yes, I do have other victims children but he is the one who enjoys the camera the most….
Don’t forget to head on over to I Heart Faces to see the many fabulous Beach entries! You will be inspired – although, if you are in Australia like me, you may also be envious of their current warmth!

Newer Comments →This is an amazing photo! Love the blue colored building and how it looks like he’s flying! Very cool.
Wow – that your beach hut? It’s like Brighton but with sun!
OK – I’ve read the words now – a bit more expensive than Brighton England methinks (but I could be wrong – they are a bit mad down there and probably pay that for a parking space!)
No! Not our beach hut – we live 5 minutes from this beach but certainly do not own the beach hut! (I wish!)
And it IS Brighton with sun but Brighton, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia!
I really love this … the blue is stunning
Oh! This is so wonderful and I love the colours. LOVE them. Quickly becoming one of my favourite photographers.
What a great shot! I love his face!
Ummm… I think we have a winner… this photo is AMAZING! I’m jealous….

Neat shot – very bright and good fun
I’m struggling this week – all mine have hats on when we go to the beach and seem to always have their heads down digging! Difficult to get a ‘face’ shot!!
How cool! That is a really really great shot!
Very cool photo! I love the bright blue building. When I was a little girl, I lived in Geelong with my family for a year, so we weren’t too far from Melbourne. I hadn’t thought about the themes being opposite seasons for you in Austrailia! Anyway, nice work.
Fantastic photo Kate!!! That’s where my entry was taken, also last summer at the beach boxes, aren’t they just fab for photos?. Great minds think alike
